IUD bleeding?

Hi all! I had a Mirena IUD put in on July 6. I started my period on July 17 and have been bleeding for 10 days now! It’s pretty light, much lighter than my regular period, but I’m not sure if I should be concerned? Is this excess bleeding a sign that the IUD isn’t in there correctly? Has anyone else experienced this?? I also have some very mild cramping.

Bleeding is completely normal after the insertion. Your doctor should’ve given you a leaflet afterwards so you can read all about your IUD. You can look it up and read about it. 
Bleeding and cramps should go after a few weeks but bleeding won’t be regular for around 6 months but every experience is different x

Nope, that's normal. It's normal for up to a year after getting it and even after that, lighter but longer periods are very common.

I got the mirena iud May 22, I barely spotted after the insertion. My period came about a week after the insertion and it was much lighter than usual. It “finished” after a week but then I started spotting every single day for around 1.5 months. I’ve stopped spotting within that last couple weeks. Not sure what happened to my period because the next one is technically 20 days late. I’m sexually active, but not pregnant. Im hoping I lose it for good while I’m on it!
