I don’t know what this means?

Hi,
Doctor suggested a SA as husband has varicocele.
I don’t really know what this means.
Just started TTC and Dr suggested we get this checked.

A varicocele is a growth on the testicle(s) the can prevent sperm motility. My husband has one, and his Semen analysis came back with some abnormalities, which were corrected with clomid. We opted not to have the varicocele removed because he showed improvements and we did end up getting pregnant. They can be severe or not, it’s worth having a urologist take a look at but it’s not always a problem.

My husband had 4 varicoceles. Essentially they are like varicose veins in the scrotum/testis that blocks sperm from getting through. He had surgery to have the clamped off however the surgery was unsuccessful. Your husbands numbers all look great, my husband has drastically low sperm count, 2.4 million. We are going to try a round of IVF soon. It doesn’t appear you will have any issues with those numbers though. Good luck!
