Early labour?

Just had an examination.. I’m 1 cm dilated.. how long could I be like this for? 
I’m so tired and sore under my bump.. like a bad period cramp.. 
what can I do to make things progress.. will it😔

With my first I almost went into preterm labor at 33 weeks. They were able to stop it but I was 1 cm dilated. I stayed that way until 37 weeks when my water broke. (Still 1 cm, they had to induce me the rest of the way)

With my first I stayed at a 2 for a few weeks until I went into labor naturally at 39 weeks.  Some ladies dilate a lot before active labor, and others do all the work once labor starts.  
I’m 36 weeks right now and currently at a 1.  I’ve had a ton of cramping and BH, so I hope that means something
