Breast feeding mamas, how often and for how long does your little one want to feed?

Aside from his first night time sleep of about 3 and a half hours, our 7 week old is wanting to feed every 2 hours still, now he's a little bit older it's only taking 15 minutes to fill him up at most feeding times which makes life a little bit easier! I know everyone's little ones are all different, I'm just interested to hear about others experiences :)

My girl is 6 1/2 weeks and when awake seems to want to nurse every hour, sometimes more. I supplement 1-2x a day w formula cause I just can’t seem to keep up but it feels like A LOT haha. Breastfeeding is NO joke, am I right!?

My 7 week old goes anywhere from 4-7 hours between feeds for the first stretch of each night. The next stretch he will go 4-5 hours. The rest of the day he goes anywhere from 1-3 hours between feeds. He takes 15 minutes per side to fill up though 😒 so between feeding, burping and changing him during the night it’s almost an hour long process. Good thing he only wakes up once or twice overnight.

Okay what is up with these babies eating every 4 hours?! How the heck do you do that??
My baby wants to nurse almost every hour or two and would probably stay on there forever if I let him. How do you mommas do that? Or is it dependent on the baby?

During the day my son will feed every 2-3hrs & then once we put him down at night he will get up once

2-2.5 hours during the day, like clockwork. About 7 hours for her first night sleep and 3-4 for the second.

My little boy is 6 weeks and his feedings are all over the place but usually during the day it's about every two hours for between 30 min to an hour total.    He likes to just suckle so technically part of that is just him suckling not eating

My girl eats every 1.5-2 hours most days sometimes waits closer to 3 hours once or twice during the day and Fred’s 8-10 mins about. At night it’s somewhere between 3-5 hours

At night, my lo does a 5-6 hour stretch, so 8pm- 1/2am, then usually wants to eat again around 5:30. Then 7:30am. Then she’ll do anywhere from 1-2 hours, maybe 3 hours during the day.

I glad you asked—this makes me feel better! My pediatrician keeps asking if he’s going 3-4 hours and I’m like no??? Should he?? It’s still 2 or 2 1/2 during the day. He turns 6 weeks today and just now his first nighttime stretch is 4 hours. He eats for about 15-30 minutes active eating time. Down from 39-40 minutes a couple weeks ago. Progress!
