Ovulation and the Pill

Jessica

I am currently on the Pill until my husband and I are ready to start trying for baby #2. I have been on a few different kinds since our son was born. I started on he progesterone only pill and changed to a combo pill (the one I was on before I was pregnant) because I quit breastfeeding, and then the combo pill I used to use didn’t seem to be working like it did previously (lots of breakthrough bleeding, irregular periods). My doctor switched me to a different combo pill in January, and so far, I have had no issues with it. However, I know that with this type of pill, the way it works it by preventing ovulation. No ovulation=no egg=no fertilization=no pregnancy. I had switched my Glow settings back to TTC mode when my pill was all screwy so I would know when my fertile window was and we could avoid sex during that time period. Well, the app tells me today that I should theoretically be in my fertile window now and roughly within two days of ovulation (if I wasn’t on the pill). Just now, I went to shower and noticed a change in my CM. It reminds me of what it looked like when I ovulated after I went off the pill to get pregnant. Should those changes still happen when I’m on the pill? Or does my body do that regardless and then the pill just keeps the egg from being released so the CM is like this for no reason? I’m just confused. Any info would be helpful. Mononessa is the brand name of my Pill if that makes a difference. Thanks!
