No symptoms

Have not had a cycle in 3 days now but I haven’t took a pregnancy test and I don’t have any symptoms yet I don’t know what I should do .. do I take a test now or later ? I was told by my doctor I couldn’t conceive and I don’t want to get me and my husbands hopes up ...what should I do ?
