So I’m due October 15th and I’m having 2 baby showers one by my mother and one by my mother-in-law. Basically this is because my mom doesn’t get along with my in-laws (or anyone) and my MIL doesn’t want to deal with her. I was okay with this cause it allowed me to invite my step-sisters, my step-mom and my aunt to my MIL shower cause my mom doesn’t get along with them (there was a huge problem with them being present at my wedding last October and I ended up not inviting them and regretting it)

My mom didn’t invite any of my in-laws and my MIL didn’t invite my mom. Unfortunately my sister-in-law (my brothers wife) didn’t get invited to my MIL shower too because she was helping my mom with her shower and my MIL didn’t want to make waves and upset my mom by inviting her and not my mom. Now my sister-in-law and my brother are upset, which I understand. I

Explained my MIL reasoning to both my brother and sister-in-law, my sister-in-law said she understood but my brother is still pissed. I didn’t know anything about this until a few days ago as both showers are surprises and I’ve been given no details other then a date (both showers are coming up in the next 2-3 weeks). I love my sister-in-law and she will be present at my mom shower, but should I just tell my MIL to invite her and I’ll just deal with the drama when it starts? Or just let it go and let things stand the way they are?
