terrible knee and hip pain... why?!

Ever since I’ve had my baby 6 months ago I’ve been keen on getting back in shape... I finally started running about 2.5 weeks ago and I am loving it but the pain has been getting worse... now its to the point where my outer hips and inner knees hurt SO bad when i run I can hardly do it... I don’t want to quit because I have weight to lose but I’m so discouraged. Even walking or resting hurts. Is this a postpartum symptom? What’s going on? I’d love advice on how I can keep running- pain free. Has this happened to any other mamas?
