Body Shaming

It's my husband's grandma's birthday today so we took her out to dinner. She saw me and the first thing she says is "Wow you're big". I felt the need to explain to her that I am almost 31 weeks now so yes indeed I'm pregnant 🙃. She then continued telling me she doesn't think I will make it to my due date because I'm just so "big". Don't get me wrong I LOVE being pregnant and I am over the moon to meet my baby girl. I am 5'9 and I have gained 10 pounds. I don't feel like I should be getting these comments. It hurts my feelings (maybe it's the hormones talking) when people feel the need to discuss my weight. Dinner continued and I brought up to my father in law (we see him weekly) that he needs to get the whooping cough shot soon before the baby comes (he HATES shots so I've been nagging him for months now) she said babies don't get the whooping cough 🙄 like are you kidding me right now. Luckily I kept my cool and I did my best at explaining to her that they do in fact get the whooping cough and it can be lethal to them. Rant over.
