C-Section mamas with toddlers: When is toddler visiting you in hospital?

Question

Trying to figure out logistics for my 2 year old visiting me and the baby at the hospital.
Part of me wants my toddler to come visit the late afternoon the day I have my c-section because I want to see her and I want her to meet the baby ASAP. But part of me wants to wait until the second day, when I will be out of bed and a little more mobile (she’s too young to understand if I tell her I had surgery).
What are you moms planning to do?

My 20 month old came to see me the afternoon after I had baby sister. However, I had her late at night around 10:00pm. My mom brought my daughter up the next day around 4:00. When she first walked in baby was in her crib next to my bed and my daughter thought she was a doll until she moved her little arm then she looked at her like she was an alien lol! And when I picked baby girl up she did not like that at all and got instantly jealous. She climbed up on the bed trying to pull her out of my arms. I was sore from surgery so her crawling all over me was painful. My mom had to pull her off and then she was crying and reaching for me. It was heart breaking.

I had a c section and my 1st was 16 months. He did not come to visit. When our 3rd is born our other 2 will be 2 and 3. They will not come to visit for this one either. I can’t have them jumping all over me and I’m due in December. My kids go to daycare. I don’t want an illness that hasn’t come out yet near the new baby until it absolutely has to be.

IMO go with how you're feeling. My 2nd c-section seemed to be tougher getting up & around right away vs my 1st.
