My OB didn’t want to put me back on birth control?
Had my 6 week postpartum check today (I’m actually 9 weeks postpartum but ob didn’t have any other appointments). I went in expecting to have a conversation about birth control, the birth, yada yada yada, but we didn’t. She wanted to do an exam to make sure my cervix was closed and everything looked good, and then basically tried running out the room. Before she made it out the door I asked about birth control and she responded “What about it?”, this shocked me a little bit and I had told her I was wanting to go back on it and she said “Okay I’ll send some pills over to your pharmacy.” I was so confused and I told her I was actually thinking about Nexplanon and she told me that she couldn’t do it today and she’ll have someone call me from the practice to make an appointment to set that up, and then left. I’m very surprised and super confused because I thought that your doctor usually advocates for you to go back on BC. Is this normal and maybe I’m just overreacting? I don’t know why but I perceived this appointment to be way different in my head than it actually was.
