Nursing as a career??

Question

I am a senior in high school and I graduate in less then 2 months. So all my tertiary applications have to be in before my finals. I am really considering becoming a nurse, I have always wanted to be a doctor but I am just missing the marks (can’t make it up in my finals)  Wondering any of you guys out there are nurses and have any advice?

OMG I am in the exact same boat!!! I need to apply to courses NEXT WEEK and I don’t know if I want to do nursing or teaching!!!

I was told to make a list of the negatives and the positives to help you decide.
Nursing has long hours, and shifts vary a lot from what I have heard. I have watched some nursing vlogs to get an idea.
Also, in my state in Australia the course is only 3 years

Well, to be a doctor you have to do 4 years of undergraduate studies for your bachelors degree, then 4 years of medical school. So you can get the marks in your undergrad degree to get into med school. 
Personally, I would get a Bachelors if Science in Nursing, work for a few years, then go back to become a nurse practitioner. My mom has been an RN for 30+ years and loves it, but her biggest regret is not going back to become an NP.
