did a membrane sweep start labor for you?

getting my membrane sweep today .. wondering what the chances are that it will actually kick start my labor. how far along were you when you got yours and did it work? thanks !

Yes. I was 41 weeks pregnant. had the sweep in the morning, had cramps and contractions all that day, went into labor the next morning, and had my baby that afternoon. worked great for me.

Yes, but I was already starting labor. I was dilating from 36 weeks on (2,3,4) and was having contractions but not lasting longer than an hour, and was losing mucus plug a week before. My doctor new I was about to start real labor and she was leaving out of town the next day so she made the exception and did the sweep at 38w6d. And my bag of water was super thin. She did it, told us to go to lunch and sure enough during lunch my contractions started. She stripped me at 12pm, lunch at 1:00, went in at 4:00, and she was born at 9:30 pm. 
I don’t think it would have worked if I wasn’t already showing so many signs

Yes. I was 39+5 and was at a 4. I got it done on a Thursday. Contractions started on and off until Friday night. Then woke up Saturday morning, showered and they started 1 minute apart while in the shower. I had my son at 8:38 Saturday night. It was a long rough delivery that ended in a C Section.... but the membrane sweep definitely helped!!

I had two after 40 weeks and neither worked for me, I was induced at 42+2

I had it done. I’m sorta started labor for me, but not fully. 
I had it done right before I hit 37 weeks (I was diagnosed with preeclampsia). I was already having regular contractions, was 4 cm dilated, and her head was in position. But, the only thing it did for me was cause me to lose my mucous plug. With contractions still steady, we went to the hospital Friday night. Through the night the contractions stopped completely, but I had dilated another 1-2cm. In the morning they gave me mesoprostal which jump started the contractions again. They broke my water and within 5 hours I delivered baby girl Saturday evening.

Nope I was 38 weeks at 1.5 🙄... but idk if the np did mine correctly 🤷🏼‍♀️... I’m almost positive if my OB would have done it i probably would have given birth the same day🤔😂 ... so I think if done correctly it can be effective for some. good luck!

Yes, I had my membrane sweep at 4pm on Wednesday, started having contractions at 1 am on Thursday. Son was born Friday at 10 pm. Very very long labor, little man didn’t want to come out!

Nope, with our second I got 3, at 39, 40, and 41 weeks. The last one accidentally broke my water and I still had to be induced to get labor going the next day haha. I have stubborn babies.

nope. had one 40 weeks and 1.5cm dilated, didn't even have any spotting. water didn't break until 41 weeks and even then labor did not start on its own

A simple pelvic exam kick started my labor. 🙄 I was 35+6 but had my son the next day at 36.
