Help please! Are contractions suppose to be painful?

38 weeks and I’ve been feeling my stomach get really tight and small lasting a couple seconds and comes and goes for like the Past hour my lower back feels sore and I get a little bit of period like cramps but nothing too painful like they say it should be. Anyone going through this ? did you wait it out? I’m gonna shower see if it helps

Sounds like it could be braxton hicks contractions, but it could also be actual contractions.. so just wait it out.

Even false contractions can be painful to some people so yea. Just depends on your pain tolerance!

Contractions are painful and last at least a minute. Showering is kinda always nice👍🏼

mine were painful during active labor, before they were just uncomfortable with my son. my sister in law had all back labor and didnt even know she was in labor, because the cramping were all in her back, she thought the baby was on a nerve. went to get checked after a few hours of being uncomfortable and she was 5cm dilated

sometimes that is early labor or Braxton hicks. When it gets closer to the birth they will definitely be painful
