TDAP/Whooping Cough vaccine frequency?

Question

I know it’s recommended we get the vaccine with every pregnancy but what about my husband/family members? I can’t find any specifics online and a nurse told me she thought the shot should be repeated every 3-4 yrs if you’re going to be around an infant but she couldn’t find any literature in the office that confirmed that timeline. But, my best friend just went to get hers and they said they only give it once every 10 years and refused to give her one. Who’s right?

I believe the whooping cough portion is actually good for life (once you get it as an adult), and the tetanus and diphtheria portion need a booster every ten years. It doesn’t hurt to get it more often though. 
The reason it’s recommended with each pregnancy is so you can pass some immunity to your baby.

If they will be around your baby before the baby can get vaccinated, I'd recommend that they are up to date on that vaccine. It's for your baby's protection if they need to know why. I made everyone get one of they wanted to see my daughter before she got the vaccine herself.

Husband and family members is every 10 years from what I’ve heard.

I'm telling all my family/friends to check they're up to date with all their immunisations if they want to visit baby, and to get any/all boosters they need. I figured the doctor will tell them which vaccinations they need to have to be around baby 😊
