Halo bassinet? Or something better?

Question

I have wanted a halo for as long as I have been looking into baby products, but now I see that there are SO many options. I also have seen some reviews saying the halo is “crooked” and baby can roll into the side. 
I have have and will keep researching, but I need some other mommy advice. 😊

I had a halo and my hubby and I discovered it was sloped and when we put our swaddled bundle in their he rolled! 
We did something like this instead and it was waaaaay better. Plus when it came time to crib train, he was used to the layout. Just make sure it is connected to your bed so it doesn't push away from your mattress.

I love our swaddleme sleeper. It can rock or lock in place so baby doesn’t roll. It can incline or lay flat. It has sound settings and vibration options. Way way cheaper too!

Ours never sloped but perhaps that’s b/c our lo only spent 10-15 minutes total in hers. I wish I would have kept the box to be able to return it. I’m hoping a future sibling actually gets some use out of it.

I agree about the mattress being thin and cold. My LO wasn’t fond of it until I put a blanket on top (even though it’s not recommended) but it’s the only way she’ll sleep/nap in the Halo. I’ve also recently noticed a slope. I’m going to pay closer attention to see if it’s a huge concern or not. She’s only 13 days old so we’ll see.

We had a Halo for our baby girl! We had the Luxe Series and loved it. She slept in it until she was about 3.5 or 4 months. We were so sad when she outgrew it. It made those night nursing sessions (when she was waking up for feedings) and it also made those diaper changes at night so easy. It also came with a storage caddy on the side and a floor light. We never experienced any trouble with it, but we can't speak for everyone. I have nothing except positive things to say about it. We loved it! Continue to do your research though. I hope you find a product you like.

I bought an Arm's Reach mini co-sleeper and it is amazing! It is safe and keeps baby right next to me, and is portable if you want to take it elsewhere. The side is collapsible so if you want to use it like q standard bassinet you can

We have the halo (the version that vibrates, has music and light on it) and our baby took to it pretty much straight away. The only thing she didn’t like was how thin and cold the mattress is. So I put a blanket underneath the mattress to give it a bit more padding and put a knitted thin blanket over the top so it’s not so cold to touch. It says not to do this but she wouldn’t sleep in it as is. She’s only 3 weeks so can’t roll around yet, but once she gets bigger I will remove the blankets. 
Personally I love that I can move the bassinet easily to get in and out of bed, and I can get her out easily in the middle of the night with the drop down side. I also like that I can move her close to me in bed and I can see her through the mesh sides. So for us it’s been a worthwhile investment.
