How soon should I reveal I'm pregnant?

So my husband of 6 years and I are apparently pregnant with our first baby. I'm not sure how far along I am, I have a doctor appt. today and I'm 95% positive I'm pregnant. Once it's confirmed, how long should I wait to tell our families and friends? I saw online, some people wait until the second trimester. Is it because there is a higher risk of miscarriage in the 1st T? I am completely new to everything involving pregnancy. We were not planning, but also haven't been 'careful' lately. I'm trying to get excited, I feel like telling others will aid that feeling.

I told everyone besides work that I was pregnant. Miscarriage is more common then everyone talks about. This is real life. I feel like we are keeping it Taboo keeping it a secret. This is your life. however the turn out just share with people who genuinely care about you. you'll need support either way. I hope you are blessed with a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Tell them when you're ready! some people do wait until 12 weeks bc of the risk of miscarriage but its all up to you and when you guys are ready. congrats hun

Do what you are comfortable with. I had problems getting pregnant and staying pregnant. When we found out this time, I told immediate family. We really needed the mental support. I waited until the 2nd trimester to announce to everyone else. Once you get it confirmed and it sinks in, you will know what's best for you. Good luck!

I told close friends and family asap because I knew I would need support from them if I did miscarry. I waited til after 12 weeks to start leaking to people but we didn’t announce on social media until about 35 weeks with the first, and at birth with our second.

We told parents at 6 weeks with both pregnancies... and then kinda whoever we were comfortable telling (more family, close friends) before 12 weeks and at 12 weeks did a general announcement

I got excited the first time and told a decent amount of people then had a miscarriage and had to tell everyone I was no longer pregnant. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage so ifs super common but some people are less than supportive. I learnt my lesson. 
When I got pregnant again I waited till almost 15 weeks before telling anyone.

I told everyone, even my work at 4 weeks. My job has a lot of lifting and requires constant standing.

for my first I was 5 weeks and told everyone.  found out I was going to miscarry at  almost 6 weeks Iended up miscarring at 7 weeks and had to untell people. so next time I'm going to wait longer before telling people other than my husband , our close family and friends....I am not going to announce on Facebook until probably after birth

I told some friends and family at 6 weeks because I couldn’t keep it a secret. I announced at 9 weeks to everyone on Facebook. I kinda regret telling everyone so early because of the rate of miscarriage. I would always worry about miscarrying after telling them. But I am now 25 weeks and have had a very healthy pregnancy. I think ppl typically wait bc or the possibility of a miscarriage earlier on. I would tell family immediately but we are really close but id wait to tell coworkers or other ppl until second trimester
