headache relief without medication?

the past 2 days I've had an annoying tension headache. trying not to take anything for it.. may do Tylenol but would rather not. I've used a heating pad on my shoulders, tried sleeping in different positions.. still not going away when usually I wake up fine. 
anything help any one else?

I find a cold cloth on my head helps... I'd personally just take Tylenol tho...

Increase fluids, reduce screen time and rest more if possible?

I would try ice on the neck if the heat isn’t working? Dark room, hydration. No phone or tv screens

I like to avoid Tylenol if I can help it, too. An essential oil blend of lavender and peppermint is very calming to me as is a cold/hot washcloth (depending on what feels good) over my eyes. But if I am not able to relax/meditate it away, then I feel Tylenol is perfectly safe alternative for relief. I see it this way: tolerating a headache isn’t a productive pain. If anything a tension headache can interfere with my day and give me aches elsewhere that exacerbates it. I hope you feel better soon!

I put a dot of peppermint oil on my fingers and rub it into my temples. depending on how bad the headache is it may only provide temporary relief, but relief still. I've been using it since before I was pregnant.
