Birth control!?

Hey , my names rylee and I’m 14 y/o. I have a reallllly hard time dealing with my acne. I went to the gynecologist a couple months ago and she suggested birth control , my mom said no of course bc she’s afraid I’m going to be sexually active because of the birth control. I recently went to the dermatologist and he prescribed me medication , but I still have SUPER bad acne. About a week ago my dad and I were in Texas and I asked if I could go on birth control bc of my acne and he said sure , but I’m scared  Tbh idk what to expect, and I need some tips on what the side effects are and how to get through them. I’m also starting high school and I want a clear face soon but my dad said I can’t make any plans to see my gynecologist for 2 weeks because of things going on in my family  Anyways , PLEASE leave some tips on the side effects and what the side effects are! Thank you! Also I’ll leave some pictures of my acne (they are not edited)

Get birth control pills that have estrogen in it, the estrogen helps by basically shutting down your androgens which is what causes your acne. Progestin only methods like IUD, Progestin only pills, etc will not help with hormonal acne and can actually make it significantly worse for many girls. I’m glad your father understands that birth control pills are used just as often for acne and hormonal issues as they are to prevent pregnancy. 
I had friends whose mothers wouldn’t allow them to go on bc because they thought it’d make them wanna have sex, there’s no logic to that kind of thinking when you need this for medical reasons like painful acne. A few of my friends ended up getting airlifted from high school after passing out on their faces and gushing blood in the middle of the cafeteria simply because they had a medical issue which requires birth control type hormones to balance out but mommy was too worried about her child preventing pregnancy as if not being on birth control will somehow prevent a girl from having sec 🤦‍♀️

had to switch the brands 2x, but when you find the right one, everything will work out on its own. but don't forget to still cleanse your face everyday!

im just gunna say you are gorgeous,and your acne really isn't bad, i had to stare at a couple of your pictures for awhile to actually see it.  I really dont think you need medication to clear anything up, its a part of puberty that although is unideal, its natural, your body will adjust to changes and it will clear with time, i would encourage you to choose confidence in your body rather than trying to take meds that could end up giving you alot of other side effects that can effect your confidence in other ways.  
that being said: birthcontrol is probably alot better a choice than what the derm gave you, usually what a dermatologist perscribed is REALLY hard on your liver.
Birthcontrol is different for everyone. one person could have 20 adverse effects with a pill while another has zero.  you just need to be willing to try a couple different ones to see what's right for you.  definitely do a pill though so you can stop if you need to due to adverse effects. and give each pill a 3 month chance to really know how your body reacts after its adjusted

Sore swollen boobs at first and you may bloat a little but I got on birth control at your age and I had really bad cystic acne and it cleared me up over a few months with birth control and using a gentle cleanser at night and morning. Also birth control can help with period cramps and keeping your period regular. I would talk to your mom tho let her know you’re not planning on having sex until you’re ready you just want clearer skin. Also wouldn’t she rather you be protected from a unwanted pregnancy..
