Has anyone ever heard of taking the antibiotic “amoxicillin” to help conceive?

Amoxicillin is used as an aid to produce cervical mucus. I go to a fertility clinic and it is prescribed when necessary. Cervical mucus is essential for conception. Hope it helps!

It’s an antibiotic so please don’t try this for conceiving a child. And if you’re allergic to penicillin chances are you’re allergic to this too, which is the case for me

I just started a round of amoxicillin today, and I got a positive OPK. I'll let you know the end of the month if I get pregnant. I haven't been using any birth control for over 7 years and haven't been using any prevention for 5 years and never got pregnant yet.

I actually have heard this. A friend of mine who had trouble conceiving was told by her OB to take one amoxicillin when she ovulated, supposedly it helps loosen up/increase CM. She ended up pregnant after trying it, not sure if it was coincidence or the amoxicillin, but you’re not crazy haha. I’ve heard this also!

No... it’s an antibiotic. It won’t help you conceive.

amoxicillin (and all other -cillins) are antibiotics. they fight infections in your body and you need a prescription to take them.
I have heard old wives tales about taking baby aspirin during your fertile window, but not sure if it works.

Antibiotics don't make you more fertile, but they will nullify the pill if that's your BC. Might be where this comes from...

My surgeons put me on Amoxicillin through PICC line because I have MRSA infection..Im sure it has nothing to do with fertility 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️
