1 day before my due date!
I hadn’t had any contractions my whole pregnancy. Not even Braxton Hicks. I woke up on June 10th at 5 am with a little tightness in my belly. I tried to go back to sleep but 30 mins later, I felt it again. At that point I got up & started making pancakes, 20 minutes later I felt it again!!!! I knew I was going to give birth that day. I let them keep coming every 30 minutes until about 11 am. My husband was still sleeping (it was a lazy Sunday) & then he finally woke up to me in the bath with the contractions getting stronger. They were starting to hurt! At this point they were about 15 minutes apart. I called my doctor & she told me to come in when they were 7 minutes apart. By 2:30 they were 8 minutes & semi painful. We grabbed the hospital bags & everything we thought we’d need. We got to the hospital by 3:30 & I was 3 1/2 cm dilated. They decided to admit me since it was so close to my due date! THANK GOD. Lol. By 4 pm we were in the room I’d later give birth in. It was pretty low key for a few hours as they waited for me to dilate more. They didn’t start me on pitocin right away because I was dilating on my own pretty good. But by 7 I was only 4 cm so they started my pitocin. Around 9 pm my contractions were 2/3 min apart AND SOOO PAINFUL. I was scream crying. Literally. The doctor came in to check me & as she was my water broke! I was 6 cm & finally able to get an epidural. Epidural wasn’t too bad & after that I felt sooo much better. Although, I could still move & feel the pressure of my contractions on my right side!!! So finally I’m 10 cm & it’s time to push! Yesss. I’m practicing pushing with the nurse for a bit & by the time we could see baby’s head and the doctor was about to come in SOMEONE WAS GIVING BIRTH IN THE ROOM NEXT TO ME. They told me to stop pushing. The doctor was delivering a baby right that second. I couldn’t stop pushing!? The baby was so close & my body was LITERALLY pushing him out without me even trying. I was so upset & crying & throwing up. Finally, I told the nurse I couldn’t wait anymore & THAT VERY SECOND the doctor ran in & told me to push! After 3 pushes he was out & I felt so much joy. Our little Kamdyn Michael entered our world on June 11th at 2:55 am, weighing 7 lbs 4 oz, 21 & 1/2 inches long ❤️
