Does modesty go out the window when you’re pregnant?

Is it normal to undress/dress with a Dr. or technician in the room?
...I had my first US at 8 weeks pregnant. First, the tech asked me if I had a full bladder, to which I said no. She told me that she wasn't sure we'd be able to see much. This is my first pregnancy and no one told to come with a full bladder. 🤨Now I know. She told me to take everything off below my waist and pointed to a Chinese divider screen that I could undress behind. I thought this was a little weird as usually a doctor will step out of the room, but whatever, I undressed. She was sitting in a chair right in front of the table and I literally had to scoot between her and the stirrups, half naked to get up on the table. 😬 She was nice during the US and showed me the screen twice and pointed out the baby and the heartbeat. She took like 15 photos. I asked her if I could have one and she said something like "oh well I don't have any photos to share." This was disappointing as people always seems to get a photo. Maybe I should have asked in the beginning? Then when she was done she handed me some wipes and said I could clean up and get dressed. And again she stayed in the room and I had to hop off the table scoot past her again to get my clothes. Am I just being too modest? Like for some reason I am okay being naked with a Dr./technician, but I'd prefer to be under the sheet when they come in rather than having to walk around the room naked with them there. 🙃 Maybe this is just preparing me for the delivery.
I met with my doctor afterwards and asked for a photo again. The doctor said she would get me one and when I went in the hall, the same technician was cutting one out for me and then handed me a photo. 😂 Haha, she was prob pissed, but oh well, I wanted something to share with my husband. Anyways, my doctor is a GYN, so I'm going to an OB for my next appointment and won't have to deal with this lady again.

I've never had to get undressed with them in the room. to be honest that seems a little odd. I probably would have asked her to step out. usually you get undressed and then sit with a sheet over your lap till they come in.

I’ve had 20+ transvaginal ultrasounds while ttc and never had to undress with anyone other than my husband in the room and they always leave to let me dress then come back to discuss the results, that was with three different doctors. Maybe ask if they could step out while you change, it’ll probably annoy them but you’re the patient and you come first.

I undressed in the bathroom and walked out with one of those sexy paper sheets around my waist for my ultrasound this morning.  I mean she didn’t tell you to drop your pants right there in front of her there was a privacy screen. And honestly they’re gonna be all up in your business anyway so it really doesn’t matter
Idk why they say to have a full bladder . every ultrasound I’ve ever had they had me go to the bathroom first and said you don’t need to have a full bladder for them to see anything

I personally think it’s fine, but I live in Germany and people are not conservative about the human body here. Obviously if you’re not comfortable you should ask for some privacy while you get undressed. But at the end of the day they are going to see your body a lot throughout pregnancy and birth, if the doctor is also rude that’s another thing. Hopefully the new one will be nicer and give you photos!

I'm still in that mode of "let's get this over with" so I'm not fussy with my modesty. At my dating appointment, I started cleaning off the goop, under the sheet, shortly after the tech passed me the tissues. She was fiddling with the computer, and my 7 month old was done having his older sister hold him.

But the part about modesty lol.... right after I had my son, they had me walk to the bathroom while a nurse held a diaper thing around my naked self while blood was dripping out of me (tmi) .. in front of my boyfriends mom who was sitting in the room holding our son! Even though I had just had my legs spread for the world to see, I still felt awkward in that moment because it was literally me looking my worst lol. Modesty definitely was non existent during labor and delivery !

Dang, I'd be pissed if I didn't get a photo with how much you pay for an ultrasound! I have never had to dress/undress/clean up in front of a doctor or technician and I've had 3 babies and one on the way. They usually step out of the room. I would feel so weird so I don't think you're feelings are unreasonable. However, come delivery, yes your modesty is pretty much out the window as you have everyone and their dog coming in the whole time poking and prodding and just generally seeing parts of you that you'd rather not share with the world. At that point though you are just so ready to be done and meet your little one that you'll do just about anything, haha!

With my first pregnancy, they had me undress from the waist down and they didn’t leave the room. I felt like that was super weird then too. And then same thing they said I could clean up and get dressed and she was still in there. I guess it’s normal, but I also felt awkward. This pregnancy luckily I just had an abdominal for my first scan so I didn’t have to deal with that lol
