I'm confused what he means

A guy I've been sleeping with for about a year left in November to April. Then I've recently been away for three months and he says he might not seem that interested because it's been a while. But he was gone for about four to five months and everything was fine when he came back. Am I being paranoid? We were extremely close getting to the point of a relationship when I got back, considering the distance is difficult for both of us.
