Baby not pooping?

Question

This is my second baby but first time breastfeeding. She is 7 weeks. How often should she be pooping? For a while it was after every feeding, then once or twice a day. Now she hasn’t pooped for 5 days....I’ve read several different things and I know I can call her doctor but before I do I wanted to ask you lovely ladies ❤️ she doesn’t seem too uncomfortable, just at some points she seems to be.

Yup 7-8 days here since about 7 weeks

Whaaaat..... I’m reading all of these comments.... I’m just so surprised bc my girl poops constantly. At LEAST once a day. More like 3-4. Since she was a newborn and still at 12 months. 😳

My baby had not pooped in 15 days..(right after he was born) we saw his doc a few times, then was referred to a GI specialist, where we had a special x ray performed to test for a rare disease..turns out it was just his body getting adjusted.. and now he goes about once a week. I was worried sick, still worry.. but the pediatric GI specialist said BF babies can go up to 10 days without going. He advised, if he gets super fussy, throws up  A LOT, or throw up has color in it, has a distended belly, then to go back and have more tests done. He also prescribed a stool softener which helps. (not a laxative) Other things I was advised to do, use a q tip with a little petroleum jelly, and stick up his butt just a little.. which can stimulate a BM, or take temp rectally. These things have to be done carefully and only of your doc says its ok.. (you can call the office and ask) We also used prune juice mixed with breast milk I pumped.. which also helped. Anyway, baby boy is  10 weeks now, and doing good.

Breast fed babies can go a week without pooping & it be totally normal :) the best judge for it baby is getting enough is to check weight. If baby is gaining weight normally, pooping once a week is totally fine!
