Emersyn!? Dog Named Emma?

My husband LOVED the name Emma and named his dog Emma since she was his first "baby girl". He LOVES his dog. He tried to persuade me to name our 1st daughter Emma 🤦‍♀️. I like the name Emersyn and nickname Emmy is okay, but is it too weird with our dogs name being Emma...??

Not weird ! My bf has a niece named Emerson and they call her Emmy. To me it’s totally different than Emma

Ah! So we named our pup Olive and I have really come to love the name. I often think about the name Olivia for a girl and like you stress that it would be too similar! I think you need to follow your heart on this one, good luck!

I love Hailey but we have a dog named Bailey.. it's too close and weird so it's off the list.

My cousin has a daughter named Abby who was 4 when they adopted a dog from the shelter, who was also 3-4 years old. Her name was Abbey. Since she had it for so long, they kept the dogs name as Abbey. It was confusing at first, but I didn’t think it was weird. 
He isn’t saying name her after the dog, it’s just his favorite name he used before he had a child.
