I still wish my exhusband a happy birthday but we have a child together and were together for 6.5 years married 5.5 years. I used to get him something for his birthday from our daughter but gave that up 2 years ago when he got a girlfriend and still told me I was his best friend. I saved him from walking in traffic when he was drunk. We have a bond still becasue we have a child together and he doesn't trat my boyfriend any differently than he would a random person on the street because he has respect for me. I think it depends on the situation. My other ex's I have no contact with so I don't care to wish them anything lol

I wished my ex happy birthday because we had been together for almost 7 years and we were married. Even though we aren't in the best terms he was a massive part of my life and I felt it was polite to say happy birthday.
