Paragard reviews?

Question

I love that paragard is non hormonal but I’ve heard horror stories about bad cramping and heavier periods. I’ve also always been skeptical  of IUD’s because I’m afraid of them getting lodged on my uterus or something. Just wondering what your experience with it has been like.

I loved it. I did have more cramps and my periods were heavier but I wouldn’t call it a horror story. It was manageable and worth it to be able to avoid hormonal options.

Mine gave me horrible back pains to the point I could barely move. Got it removed and turns out it was infected. Hated it

Don't know much about the first, but I had to get my iud removed almost a month after getting it in.

I’ve written this quite a few times but copper is a nutrient and it can still produce similar effects that the hormones would produce. They say not to worry about heavy metal toxicity but it does happen. For me, I had it 1.5 years, the cramps weren’t worth it. I realised what i had done, allowed a foreign object to be stuck in a very delicate place... so of course there will be heavier flow, heavier cramps, the body is trying to get rid of it. For some people this never gets better until it is removed. They say to wait at least 6 months for cramps and flow to start feeling better... so if it’s still very very painful after that time, think about what you wanna do. Sex was no longer comfortable at all, that could be due to my husbands size? I was scared about the thing getting lost or tearing my uterus. Oh and one week after I got it inserted, i had an awful infection that put me in the hospital. Exposure came from the insertion. You are very volatile at that time and infection is likely.
