3rd iui failed. do I keep going or move to ivf?

Question

I just did a hpt this morning, 12 dpiui and it was negative. I am away all weekend so I am going for blood work tomorrow just for confirmation, that way I can stop taking the progesterone too. (my period doesn't come on progesterone). first iui was February, took a break, did back to back iui's June and July. Do I go for a fourth or save my money to go do ivf. which won't happen until Christmas (on a waiting list now). so sad this round didn't work...

I’m in the same position as you. I’m in the tww after my 3rd iui now, and idk what I’m going to do if it fails. We did one in April, one in May, then had to take a break and save up money during June and July. If this one doesn’t work, my husband said he wants to take another break, which kills me. I want to keep trying. We will never afford ivf so our only option is to just keep doing iuis until it works. My heart hurts so much from two and a half years of disappointment and depression over this. I don’t have any answers for you but I just wanted you to know you’re not alone.

I’m so sorry, hon!! It really sucks. Just know there’s no right or wrong next step, just what’s right for you. 
We’re meeting with our clinic today to discuss whether we try a fourth medicated IUI or stop trying and move on to adoption. None of our fertility stuff is covered by insurance and my wife and I have spent so much on it already that ivf isn’t in our future.

Hi Tiffany everyone is different so I can’t tell you what to do but I can talk about my personal experience. We did 4 cycles and even though our results were good each cycle as far as follicle numbers and size and sperm count we have been unsuccessful. I am at 12dpiui and had a bfn so I am counting myself out this cycle too. We r moving to IVF. We were only going to do 3 iuis but then o told my self what If? Anyways I know it could happen in my 5,6 or 7 but I just feel that my Chances will be higher at this point if they transfer 1 or 2 embryos than keep trying. I feel that if 3 eggs aren’t fertilized in 4 cycles I rather just know there is an embryo there.

I'm so sorry. I had 3 failed IUI cycle too (April,May,June) last cycle I had a cyst so I have to be on BC for two weeks last month. We decided to take a break this month because we are going on a vacation (hopefully i will get pregnant) will seek treatment again when we get back RE wants to switch me to Clomid this time. Since Letrozole didnt work. Baby Dust!

Awe girl I’m sorry to hear this. I’m in the same boat sort of. We are going for our third IUI next week and really hoping after that HSG yesterday that this gives us what we need. It’s hard to decide on what to do, I get it. We talked about IVF but we won’t be going that route if this round doesn’t take. Have you had the HSG yet?

I’m in the same boat.#4 came out as a failure today. I can’t decide. I always end up being exhausted with trying and then bam I do another.
