How to stop spotting to have sex

So for some reason im getting dark discharge and my period isn’t due for another 7+ days and I want to have sex tomorrow but I’m scared that I’ll get it or he will be able to see it on his dick. Is there anyway to stop or prevent it? I’m not on any birth control but I do have some I could take. I’ve been birth control free for a year.
