Should schools require students to tuck their shirts in?

When I was in middle school (public school), we had to tuck our top in to our bottoms, no matter what it was.

I remember having to tuck a tunic into a pair of tights, and being sent home because you could see my underpants. I realize this policy is probably one of the more extreme ones, as I’ve never heard of this anywhere else.

However, I was wondering if this is something you’d be in favor of.

Do you think this would be good for security reasons?

Are there any positives you can think of that would come from this?

What about the negatives?
