Is Cohen an offensive name? Jewish ties?

I over heard a conversation in the store today over a new baby named Cohen. Is it really offensive? We were considering it but not if it’s offensive in some way. Everything on google just says it is a Jewish surname.
They said something about it being equal to naming a child Jesus to Christians? 🤷🏻‍♀️ google says nothing

If it’s true that it’s an earned title, I’d avoid it. Something like naming your kid King, Priestess, President, etc. I’m not big on title or object names.

I would do more research on it. While the name has become popular and even Jews will tell you they dont care. Orthodox Jews will care. In the religion Cohen is a reserved name for high priests and considered honorable. To carry the name you must meet certain requirements. I have friends in Israel who think the "trend" of the name Cohen is ridiculous and disrespectful.

I think I read once that Cohen is also an earned title or sacred name in the Jewish community (but I can’t quite remember) - which makes it different from using other Jewish names.
When I was pregnant I was really interested on reading articles about what was considered cultural appropriation in regards to baby names. Whatever your view point it is an interesting read.

I have a cousin named Coen...same name, different spelling. You could do something similar if you are concerned.

Umm no. That’s my grandmas maiden name and yes she’s Jewish but what would be offensive about it?

He was named something with the title Cohen after because his father is a Cohen 
Same with a Levi they say the name and add HaLevi

I know a "Cohen" and a "Kohen" and think it's cute! I don't think anyone would think it's offensive. :)
