Giving my fiancé his wedding band to wear before the wedding- okay or not okay?

My fiancé and I recently got engaged! I’ve been looking into designing and getting his wedding band made already because I’m just so excited. When I do get it, he wants to wear it right away, and I’m totally with it. But it’s super out of the norm to wear the wedding band before the ceremony I know. But we’re going to be engaged for at least 2 years- (our son will be born this January and we want him to be old enough to be our ring bearer).

I want him to wear his ring now, but we’re afraid of what family/ppl might say, especially since our families are so traditional, they might talk down to us about how he’s not supposed to wear it before the wedding, etc.

What do you guys think? Is out of the norm okay, or is this TOO out of the norm??
