Storage unit baby stuff

So I have a friend who buys old abandoned storage units and sells the stuff inside and she’s been giving me all the baby stuff. I love the thought I really do! But the clothing is covered in stains and the car seat is old and dirty and crib set isn’t either of the themes for the different genders that my husband and i really want to do. And I know this will sound really selfish but this is our first and maybe only child and I really want to be able to buy stuff for our baby and get new things. I’m only 10 weeks and I told everyone I don’t want anything until we know the gender at 20 weeks but now I have this old stain covered (even though washed) baby stuff piling up. And it’s not even gender neutral it’s random boy and girl stuff. I know I’m going to get called selfish I just want advice on how to turn her down nicely. I love her I don’t want to hurt her feelings
