My baby was due August 10. I woke up that morning at 1 am with contractions and they kept getting stronger and closer together. At 7 am I decided to go to the hospital. They checked me and I was already 4 cm dilated so they admitted me. I wanted to have a natural birth but ended up getting the epidural and I’m glad I did. I labored for a total of 12 hours at the hospital and pushed for 2 1/2 hours. For the most part my labor was relaxing and painless until the epidural wore off on one side in the last hour. They gave me another dose and in 30 min went back to feeling no pain. My baby was born at 9:35 pm after I started throwing up between pushing... I didn’t even notice when she came out because I kept throwing up. We got to do skin to skin but when they checked her temperature she had to developed a fever so they sent her to the nicu right away. She’s going to be there until Tuesday or Wednesday but doctor says she’s doing great and doesn’t have a fever anymore. I get discharged today so I’m really sad I won’t be able to go home with her but the doctors and nurses are taking very good care of her and soon I’ll have her home with me.
