The main downside in my opinion is that it looks like Jah-MARE-ee-un like putting a Juh before the old lady name Marion. 
I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be pronounced Juh-MAR-ee-ON but the typical rules of English suggest the other pronunciation. So I don’t love the name, for that reason. I like Jamar a lot better. Or Jamari is really cool.

I had a kid I taught a few years back named Ja'Marion. I like your version better and it's a perfectly normal name for a boy to me. I just personally wouldn't use it for my own child.
