Focusing on my health and well being
After my failed attempt at conceiving this month and the 5 months prior I've decided to take the focus off of TTC and start eating healthier and getting some exercise. I have done a bit of research and my body type being what it is I basically have to do a low carb high protein moderate healthy fats diet. I put my gender height weight and activity level into a calculator and got a rough estimate on how many calories I naturally burn each day. I modified the amount of calories I need to eat and created a deficit of 500 calories per day without any exercise. If I add in a 60 minute slower paced walk to start me off that would burn an additional 200-300 calorie deficit. I'm HOPING that this approach will help me lose the weight. As time goes on if I lose these numbers will have to be adjusted but for right now I feel like it's a good start. Apparently my body type is an endomorph which basically means I store more fat than other body types and it's a bit more challenging to shed the extra fat. I'm going to give it 6 weeks and see where I'm at. Wish me luck and if you have any recommendations or know a bit about endomorphs and losing weight feel free to comment. Words of encouragement don't hurt either as I'm on this journey on my own. I am hoping one day my SO will want to join me but that is something that is completely up to him. Thanks for reading my journey starts tomorrow.
