Bad kidney pain during pregnancy?

So I'm 17 weeks pregnant and since about 10 weeks I have been getting bad achy pains in my kidneys (both of them but mostly my right one) I went to the docs at 12 weeks and they tested my urine for an infection and that came back normal although they did find protein, blood and white blood cells but said it's nothing to worry about. I went back again to complain about it but the doc said again it's nothing to worry about. But it is really painful !! It usually happens when I need to pee and last for a half an hour to an hour after I have gone to the toilet or just comes randomly. 
I should mention I have had staff infection in my kidneys early last year but was really sick and I don't feel sick like that at all now. 
Does anyone know what it could be ? Or if I should be worried?

During pregnancy it is common that urine backs up into your kidneys. However, I nearly died from kidney issues during my pregnancy. My pain never went away though and was so intense I was vomiting. I'd say insist on seeing a urologist. My midwives and doctor argued with me about a surgery that my urologist said I needed to have, baby doctors are not kidney specialists. I hope you get some relief soon.

Have they done an ultrasound to see if you have hydronephrosis? It’s very painful. I’d keep pushing the doctors to find an answer so they can treat whatever it is and you can get some relief. Feel better!

I’ve had a couple UTIs that didn’t show up on a basic urine screening - they only test for certain bacteria, but there are others that can be involved...
