So my story is one for the books! My original due date was August 23rd but I was set you induction for August 20th via c-section since my first pregnancy was a c-section. Well, this past Thursday, I went down to GA to get my hair done by my best friend thinking. I live in Nashville so it was a easy 4 hour drive. I went down there with my 6 year old son expecting to come back right after my appointment Friday afternoon. Friday morning about 3a I woke up calling my mom and telling my sister (who’s house I was staying at in GA) that something was not right. I had started spotting. My mom and sister said that if it was just once it was ok and to give it some time before doing anything drastic. I kept telling them I needed to leave and can’t do my appointment. My sister stated she was going to drive me back to Nashville but originally had plans to take me to the hospital in Atlanta. I decided to not wait and got in the car with my son and started driving back to Nashville at 7:55a. I was experiencing contractions the whole drive (about 2-3 minutes apart). There was several times I wanted to stop at the nearest hospital, but honestly, I didn’t because I hated knowing I would give birth and dad not be there. I managed to make it back at 11:54a pulling up to the hospital I was set to give birth at. Dad met me at the hospital with our bags. I was immediately taken to a triage room. Not knowing I was fully dilated, I didn’t have time to get an epidural not to mention no time to be prepped for a c-section. Welp, let’s just say 4 pushes later at 12:08p, Mr. Julian Xavier DuBois made his grand entrance. All natural birth! I was in awe. I still can’t believe it. Everyone is saying it’s a miracle I made it home without giving birth on the side of the road. I tell them if it was for the 3 -way call with my sister and mom and praying to GOD I don’t know how I done it either. He was the talk of the hospital for the weekend!
