Expecting a visitor
My mother-in-law is coming to stay with us for a week around Thanksgiving. She lives rather far away, so this will be her first chance to meet baby.
I’m just having issues with her not wanting to get vaccines before coming to stay with us. Baby will be only a little over a month old when she comes (assuming he arrives on time), and it’ll be the height of flu season. She is convinced though that she doesn’t need a flu shot or a TDaP, but we are insisting. I’m not sure how to make her know we’re serious without being a jerk— I’m mostly leaving it up to my husband to tell her. 😬
I’m a bit worried too that she’s going to try to do everything. She has a hard time accepting that my husband (her son) is an adult and that we have our own lives and way of doing things, so I’m concerned that she may try to do things with Baby her own way. I’m just grateful that I will be off-work (most of) that week, and my husband works from home; so I can be sure that Baby is staying on routine!
If anyone has any tips or advice, I appreciate it! 7 more weeks til Baby arrives! 👶🏻
