When a guy disappears after sex...

Question

So...I know the “rule” of holding out until at least the third date to have sex but we did it in the second date. And guess what? It’s now been five days since I’ve heard from him.
Silence says a lot but I’m also now doing that thing of wondering if he thinks my silence says something too? 
A part of me is too afraid to ask because it’ll be embarrassing if he confirms what I’m suspecting. Another part of me just wants to know and then deal with whatever happens next.

Don’t hold out til the 3rd date.  Hold out until he has proven he is committed to you and loves you. That may take a dozen dates

Just text him and say ‘Hey wanna catch a movie this weekend?’ 
If he doesn’t reply you have your answer and you can move on. If he wants to catch up, go on the date, see the movie and talk to him. Don’t have sex and just see if there is anything there without sex being involved.

Thanks everyone...truly. I was listening to a video from that dating coach, Matt Hussey, and he said that we waste too much time over analyzing the motivations behind why someone has stopped talking to us. He reasoned that we should put more of a premium on our own time and stop wasting it over getting “closure” over someone who never bothered to talk to us again.
I think that I’m going to accept his silence as an answer. It’s not one I would have liked but it’s an answer nonetheless.

I wouldn’t go by the “rule”. In my personal experience I have waited the “three dates” hell even months with one guy in the past, and they all turned out cheaters or full of 💩😂 on the other hand, I had sex with my current boyfriend the first night (wasn’t planned just happened) and he’s the best 🤷‍♀️💖 really depends on the guy. Most don’t have the courage to cut you off so they just ghost you. I just suggest you send him one text and if he doesn’t respond/seems off or short to let him go.

I’ve never had a guy go MIA after sex... but then again I never was over thinking it too much, and I never have hopped into bed with a guy who seemed overly eager. I think girls that have this happen to them are falling into fuck boy traps. Which blows my mind because they are so obviously fuck boys. If you have something to say to him, text him. If you don’t have something to say, and are trying to think of something to say so that you CAN text him... don’t.

I waited about two months while dating my husband. We had known each other for over three years at that point so we could’ve jumped into bed pretty quickly. He told me from the beginning that he didn’t want the sex, he just wanted me. And that he was willing to wait until I was ready. Whether that was a month from now, after engagement, or after marriage. I waited until we had exchanged our first “I love you’s” and it was worth it. Our marriage has been pretty incredible and I owe it all to the kind of character he has. He valued me as a person more than having sex itself..
