Potty chair or potty seat?

Which of the 2 is best for potty training? LO is 20 months old.

We trained her on a chair and once she caught on, we switched to the seat no problem. I guess it depends on age. My daughter couldn't talk when we trained her so it was easy for her to just run and do her business independently.

We just bought my 18 month old the summer infant potty chair that looks like a real toilet. He’s not able to tell me he has to go yet, so he’s not ready. I wanted to get him familiar with it though. He loves t so far. I bring him with me when I have to go and he sits on it and likes to flush it when he’s “done.” It was only $23 on amazon so I figured why not.

i was talking to my mom about this the other day. she said we never needed that stuff when we were little. mom just used the normal toilet seat and we learned to balance and hold ourselves up. personally i dont want to have to sanitize a potty chair every time they use it. so if i had to choose, it would be the little booster...my question is, how do adults go? does it fold up? do you have to remove it everytime? cause sometimes i dont have time for that. 😂

Depends on your house. Im having a potty chair since id have to lug him and a newborn up the stairs everytime hed have to pee

I'm doing some sort of seat when we get there. Because I don't want to clean a separate chair. Because I already have to clean the occasional poop fest all over the house, the usual daily toddler messes, chronic shedding of both a dog and cat, and an SO who doesn't understand the concept of picking up after himself. So if someone carts home a chair, I WILL pitch it.

So this is what we ended up getting! You can take the white seat off and put it over an actual toilet too. Then you can use it as a step stool to get on the toilet, or to reach the sink.
So it’s basically a 3-in-1. We only paid $12 for it at Walmart :)
