Naw. It's the 10th time that gets ya. It progressively gets worse for the first few weeks. Then it gets much easier.

The FIRST time... no. But around day 6-14 I (and many other people I know) would say is when you really have to be truly dedicated to going through with it. It’s extremely common to get cracked bleeding nipples as well as clogged ducts- none of these are MAJOR SERIOUS issues but CAN BE painful and on top of the exhaustion you’re feeling as well as the emotions your full of- it can be very deterring. Stick with it- it gets better after that second week and is so worth it. Both for you and your baby

Nope it never hurt for me. I nursed my first daughter 17 months, now nursing my newborn. Never any pain except the after cramps after this both caused by nursing

It’s hard at the beginning but it’s totally worth it!

It shouldn’t.... but realistically it probably will at first. If it hurts, there is a latch problem. But you & baby are learning, so it may take a little time to find a good latch. 
Be prepared for discomfort, but don’t just accept that as the norm! Work towards a pain free BF experience!
