Popularity of the baby name Penelope?

The only name my husband and I truly agree on for our daughter (due October) is Penelope (Pippa for short). However, it seems to be getting way too common according to the charts and message boards, and since it’s our first child, I really don’t know how popular it is in our area (via intel from daycares, mommy groups etc). What do you think?

Every other kid I meet is named Penelope. Lol but regardless. If you like it then name her that!

I’ve only met one Penelope and that was a while ago. We are naming our baby Charlotte which has gotten extremely popular, but we don’t care. We love the name and every other name we came up with just didn’t seem to measure up. If you love the name, you should use it!

I love the name Penelope! I was gonna use it for my baby girl but i know a few Penelope’s and my husband didn’t like it :( it’s a beautiful name!

I’ve seriously never met a single person named Penelope to be honest and I’m around children a lot due to church activities. It really just depends on where you are and honestly, if you love it and it feels right to both you and your hubby, go for it!
