My husband and I were together for 7 years and he never really popped the question we just decided to get married. I don’t know why it’s such a big deal. We had 2 boys and bought a house, I knew we were committed.

I think it depends. My sister was with her husband for 8 years before he proposed but they started dating at 16. I dated a guy for almost 6 years and ended it because he hadn't proposed. I was 25 at the time. My husband proposed to me at 2.5 years.

Personally, for me two years without even talking about marriage would’ve been too long. I know people who’ve taken much longer than that but it’s not for me. I want a man who is decisive and acts on his feelings.

My aunt made my uncle wait 15 years before he proposed. It just depends on the relationship. Me, personally.. it doesn’t matter as long as we’re on the same page. We both want marriage. We’re both committed. But I don’t see the rush right now.
