Not as excited for baby #2?!

I honestly feel like a terrible person. I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and I am no where near as excited as I was with my first... my daughter is only 7 months old and I feel like I’m jipping her on one on one time! Does anyone else feel like this? I’m honestly terrified of have two babies and I’m so scared because I just don’t understand how I can love another child so much😭

Yep. I felt like this throughout my entire pregnancy. When I held my second girl in my arms, I still felt the same. It was about 6 hours later that I fell in love with her. She wouldn't latch. I could tell something was wrong in her mouth. No one would listen to me. I demanded that someone take a look. She's my baby, somethings wrong. Sure enough she had a tongue tie. I felt this overwhelming love and need to protect her. She was my daughter, she wasn't getting food. It was my job to fix that. I was terrified for those first 6 hours that I really wouldn't end up loving her. But damn, when it hit me, it hit me hard.

Reading everyone’s comments makes me feel so mich better aboit the way I feel. Yes we are excited to have another tiny human to love, but the guilt I feel about not being able to give all of my time to my first baby is immense!! I feel horrible about it. I feel like he will feel that we don’t love him as much. I want to involve him in everything with his little brother and sister, and hopefully neither of my babies will feel like they don’t get enough love or attention.

I felt like this all the time! It didn’t get easier as time went on... I really felt like I was going to break. The pregnancy was the worst! But once the baby came she adjusted. There was a lot of crying it out because I refused to put my first on the back burner. There were no jealously issues and eventually the crying calmed wayyyy down. Now we have a happy, smiling, amazing 3 month old that sleeps when our 1st sleeps and is on a pretty solid feeding schedule. Took a little over a month to even feel like I had the courage to leave the house. Right now, things are pretty good and I know they will be good for you too! You can do this! Silver lining, they will be close in age and be able to do all sorts of things together! Hopefully they will be best friends, already I see that happening with mine.

This is normal!! My son is two and I can’t even think about being pregnant lol. I’m 18 weeks.

I feel this way and my son is 15 months lol. He’s gotten plenty of 1:1 with me and yet I still feel guilty. I also feel like I won’t be capable of loving his sibling as much as I love him.

I felt exactly the same except I felt it at 5 weeks I was some what in some type of depression I guess and I told myself and my immediate family that I knew for a fact I wasn’t gonna love my other baby that is one the way and although I am 100% against abortions I considered it which was an extremely low point for me and I felt that way because I thought I could never live another baby like I love my son but after the first trimester ended and I started to feel more energized and not so nauseous anymore I felt better about the pregnancy it’s just about getting over obstacles. I’m 16 weeks at the moment and I am now so eager to find out what we r having in a few weeks. You will get passed the feeling and eventually except the fact that other you say you dnt but you have more than enough love and time to give to the both of them.

I felt the same. My daughter was 5 months when I got pregnant and I was shocked and devastated at first. I knew I didn’t want an abortion but I couldn’t get excited about it. It was only after my 12 week scan that I got excited and the reality of all the positives hit me. I’m now 38 weeks and as the pregnancy progressed I was honestly more excited than I was with my first 😊

I’m planning on hopefully my children will be close together. My daughter is 5.5 months and I’m so ready to start trying in a few months.
My sister and I are 2 years 4 months a part. I wish we were closer. I don’t remember being an only child and getting the one on one so honestly I wouldn’t know the difference if my parents would have had her when I was even younger. Now days we are totally different in life which is why I wish we were closer. She’s 21 with a roommate and a clothing store job. I’m 23.5 married with a baby, house, college graduate. We get along but our lives are so different the bonding is hard. 
My brother and I are 6.5 year  apart and he’s 4 years younger then my sister. They are pretty close. I remember when he was born, she does somewhat. He’s 17 in high school. He was 12 when I moved out so we don’t quite have that awesome sibling relationship. He says he feels like an only child because me and my sister both moved out before he was 14 he hates it.
