Teeth!?!

Question

My daughters babysitter mentioned something about her possibly teething since she's been drooling & fussy. We snapped this picture but I'm not sure.

I've read that they can teeth at early as 2 months, but not get their teeth til 6 months. So I wasn't sure. Plus I know its common for them to get their bottom teeth first. But I'm a first time mom so please, give me opinions.

Fourth time momma here! Your little one could very well be teething. With that being said they can be teething for a few months before you start to see a tooth and usually it's the bottom teeth that comes in first. It's also very common for babies to excessively drool at this age even if they're not teething. The next time you are in the doctor's office have them take a look.

I had this same question with my first. My mom is a dental hygienist so I asked her. She told me the average baby cuts their first tooth between 4-8 months, with 4 months being very early. At about the 2-3 month mark, babies’ salivary glands really kick into gear, but they don’t swallow well unless eating. So they start drooling like crazy. They also tend to be awake more around that age, so they tend to fuss more. It is often those two things going on, not actual teething. Both of my kids have been that way around 2.5-3.5months. My first cut her first tooth at 9 or 10 months. It was a bottom tooth, which is normal

Mine is doing this too. I think it's more that she has discovered her hands and loves to chew them now. I can't see anything that looks like tooth buds.
