Prenatal care covered?

My husband insists that prenatal vitamins are covered with out insurance. The dr will write a “script” and we can get free? I don’t believe him. I just found out I was pregnant last night and my dr office isn’t open today. Should I go to drug store over weekend and get vitamins? 
If it helps we have US Family Health ( tricare Prime)

They are covered if they are the ones prescribed by your doctor. I personally never filled the prescription because I prefer the gummy vitamins so I buy my own. Either way you should start taking one (or at least a folic acid supplement) right away, so if you can't see your doctor to get a prescription now, pick up some on your own for the mean time.

If you want to buy your first bottle, it’s cheap so, doesn’t really matter, but yes, your vitamins should be covered if you ask them. I just prefer the store bought gummy ones. The doctors ones made me sick.

Literally any prescription you get and fill on post at the pharmacy is free...

Yep they’re covered. My provider said she sent a script over to the pharmacy for me. I have my own that I take, so I never picked them up, but they are covered.

Yes they will just have to get a prescription for them. That being said it’s not gonna be some instagram worthy vitamin. They are gonna be prescription grade meds. You can literally get 2 months worth of prenatals at Target for $10.

Yes they are covered I called the hospital and told them I was pregnant and they told me to go in for a pregnancy test and to pick up my prenatal. My son is one and I’m still breastfeeding and the prenatal are still covered
