Placenta previa nightmare begins...
LONG STORY ALERT 🚨
Back at 20 weeks my OB told me that it looked like I had placenta previa on my ultrasound but since it was still early it was highly likely to move out of the way. He scheduled me for follow up ultrasound at 28 weeks to check on it.
Fast forward to this past Wednesday (27 weeks 4 days)... I’m at work and I get up to take a break. After walking a couple mins I feel this gush of wetness down there. At first I think it may just be some discharge coming out but after a couple mins it feels TOO wet. So I feel the bottom of my pants and when I look at my hand I see red. I run off to the bathroom and when I pull down my pants there’s blood everywhere!

After my calling my husband and parents and getting my coworker to drive me to the hospital, the ER confirms I still have complete previa which caused the bleed and I’m apparently having contractions every 5 mins. They admit me to monitor the problem and check on some things.
On my first night they hook me up to an IV of magnesium to stop contractions. I also get my first steroid shot. I was off the magnesium by the next morning. The high risk doctor comes in to visit me and says that he was concerned by something he saw on the ultrasound. He told me that it looked like the placenta may be rooting through the walls of my uterus onto my bladder which worst case scenario could result in removal of my uterus during c section 😥
He schedules me for an MRI to get a better look at the issue. After getting the results he says that it doesn’t look like it’s going through to the bladder (FINALLY some better news). But he won’t know for sure until I actually have the c section. And since the previa has been confirmed I’ll be having a scheduled c section around 35 weeks 😨 My November baby just became a early-mid October baby!!
I’m scheduled to be discharged on Monday so hoping all continues to go well. I’ve also been placed on bed rest so I’ve had to quit my job earlier than anticipated 😞 Im glad my baby boy is ok but this is such a stressful situation!
