The difference between false positives and chemical pregnancies.
So I’ve noticed a lot of controversy surrounding false positives recently and wanted to give me opinions on it, I am a nurse and I see a lot of women coming into the hospital claiming a positive pregnancy test and then having a negative blood test. Most women assume fault on the test they were using but sadly, chemical pregnancies can be there one day and then gone the next. If you have any color whatsoever on your test that IS a positive, if you see a line within the time frame no matter how light this IS a positive. And to be honest, sometimes it is accurate to read a little out of the time frame because a lot of the time there is a line and it’s just hard to see, but with time the hCG sets in the test and begins to dry which can make it more visible.
Indents/evaps do not have color, they will be grey. Please understand in order to have any color on the test line there must be a high enough level of hCG, because the color is triggered by this hormone.
We always recommend woman to test the day of or after their missed period, because by that time you should be able to get a very accurate read on your test. And yes the cheap ones are accurate as well, we use 75 cent ones at the hospital.
