40 weeks 2 days did membrane sweet work for u?

Question

40 weeks 2 days and getting membrane sweep I'm soft and 2 centimeters as of last week. Did it work for you? How soon did your water break or go into labor?

I was offered one at my appointment on Saturday but after speaking to my midwife about it, I decided to wait. She said it isn’t that effective in first time mums and the majority of FTM’s that have it done often need a second one, too. 
That’s just something to think about. Not trying to discourage or anything but I just thought I’d point it out!

I was 40w 2d when I had it done with my first pregnancy, had my son 15 hours later. It wouldn't hurt to try 🙂

I had one done at 39 weeks.  Contractions all that afternoon and evening.  Went to sleep and nothing.  Now I’m having contractions off and on, last night was 4+ hrs at 3mins apart, went to L&D and I’m STILL 2 cms dilated with a short and soft cervix.  I’m on day 4 of this nonsense. lol

My doctor said there’s a 50/50 chance it helps you go in to labor. I wasn’t even dilated enough for doc to do one so if you are, I’d take advantage!
